OCEAN MAINSAIL – CROSS CUT – 2+2
Our ocean mainsails are manufactured in high tenacity woven polyester branded sailcloth as a cross-cut loose foot design. We bond and seam each panel, including graduated reinforcing patched with 3 rows of three step zig-zag stitching in Sunstop thread. Your sail will include stainless steel pressed rings at the tack, clew and all reefing points, Teflon anti-chafe reinforcement at ‘high wear’ points around the edges, low friction plastic sliders, a bolt rope on the luff, tell tales on the leech, tapered battens, and a luff Cunningham eye.
Complete with 2 rows of reefing points with strapping reinforcement and reef pennant eyes across the sail, we regularly recommend the addition of a third and often a fourth reef to negate the use of a try sail. Leach over patches will extend beyond the second reef and can (if specified) create a complete two ply leach for significant increased leach strength. Camber lines across both sides of the sail, a standard sail number and a draw string Cordura bag and sail trim guide written by our team of experts.
OCEAN SPECIFIC
Our team has designed the ocean mainsail range to include: Extra Teflon reinforcing throughout, increased webbing reinforcement on rings, headboard and full-length batten pockets, adjustable Dyneema foot and leech lines with superior cleats and an up’n’over leech line (with purchase at head if necessary). We also include double tapes/flat tapes on the luff, leech and foot, grommet improvements for slider and reef tie downs, webbed on slides and reef handles (if specified).
Given the varying nature of Ocean sailing we strongly recommend discussing your plans with our team of experienced sailors so we can tailor a bespoke product to suit your specific needs.
