OCEAN HEADSAIL – CROSS CUT – SELF TACKING
Our Ocean Self Tacking Headsails are manufactured in a high-tenacity polyester sailcloth. We bond and then seam each panel (including on graduated reinforcing patches) with 3 rows of 3 step zig-zag Sunstop threat that hosts advanced UV protection.
This specification includes a luff tape to suit your furler, webbing loops fitted at the head and tack, as well as a multihole clew board, an adjustable leech line that exits near the clew through a metal cleat and telltales up the luff. In addition, this sail is fitted a sacrificial UV protective strip along the leech and foot in white Odyssey fabric. It comes complete with a sail trim guide and a high-quality Cordura drawstring sail bag to store your sail in during the off season.
OCEAN SPECIFICATION
Our team has designed our ocean headsails to include: a check tape on the luff for added durability, an up’n’over or ‘round clew’ leech line with purchase (if necessary), double tapes/flat tapes on the leech and foot, seam strainers (if necessary), a large ‘O’ ring in the clew, covered webbings and a high grade Weathermax UV strip for added resistance against UV.
HARDWARE UPGRADE
If required you can upgrade to vertical leach battens for improved sail shape and slight increase in sail area. Given the varying nature of Ocean sailing we strongly recommend discussing your plans with our team of experienced sailors so we can tailor a bespoke product to suit your specific needs.
FABRIC UPGRADE
We offer fabric upgrades that include a range of superior warp-oriented branded polyester sailcloths, and laminate options for radial construction as well as hybrid wovens for cross cut construction such as Vectron. Other colours of UV protective fabric are also available for a small charge.
