Sail Care and Servicing

 

To begin the process of servicing or repairing your products, we’d ideally like to hear from you first. So pick up the phone and give us a call – we’ll discuss what we can (and can’t) do for you, given everything you tell us about the products you want looked at.

Alternatively pop us an email and request a “Sailcare Pack” be sent – telling us what sails/covers/etc you have, so that we can prepare the correct labels. A quick way is to fill in the form on this page and submit it.

Either way, and if we don’t already have it, we’ll also need to take some contact details and an address so we can arrange transport to the loft (if required).

By all means send us your sails ‘blind’, but be sure to include as many contact details and as much information on what’s required as possible!

In your sail collection pack you should find the following:

  • PVC Name tags with your name and customer ID number pre-written on – with specific labels for all your sails (if pre-arranged).
  • Cable ties for attaching tags to sails and sail bags.
  • Clear adhesive ‘Documents enclosed’ envelope(s) with our address inside.
  • “Guide to packaging sail for transit” document.
  • Sailcare instructions form (see below).

 The next steps would be as follows:

  1. Secure the relevant PVC tags to all sails and sail bags (where relevant).
  2. Print and fill in the PDF form below as comprehensively as possible, including any instructions e.g. “there is a tear 1/3 of the way up the leech that needs repairing”, “replace UV protection” etc. The more accurate and specific you are at this stage, the faster we can complete your work and the cheaper it will be for you!
  3. Pack your sails/covers preferably into a cardboard box(es) or into strong bin liner(s) – see the enclosed document for more guidance.
  4. Finally, place the sailcare instructions form behind our address in the ‘documents enclosed’ envelope and stick this on the package.

Once your sails/covers are ready for our courier to collect, please phone our office on 01929 554308 – we will need at least 24 hours notice and a total number of packages (and weights if possible – use your bathroom scales).
