YACHT SPRAYHOOD
The Kemp sprayhood is a truly bespoke product. Unlike many of our competitors, we design and build each individual hood to match the design and layout of your yacht. If recovering an existing frame, we endeavour to re-use as many of the existing deck fitting as possible thus minimizing any gel coat repairs. A Kemp Spray Hood is a perfect stand-alone product, but it also provides the base for further additions of Kemp covers that will convert the Spray Hood into a multi-functional system.
A brand new sprayhood from Kemp begins with a strong and sturdy foundation. Built from marine-grade high-quality stainless steel, the framework provides a stable base and the desired profile for your new cover. The skin of the hood is made using high-quality marine grade acrylic canvas and features our unique zip bar pockets for easy fitting and removal along with strong tensioning straps along each side wing allowing the hood to be tensioned correctly.
The materials used in the construction of the Kemp sprayhood ensure optimum use, durability and appearance, and it can be easily maintained and serviced to ensure a long working life.
UPGRADES
As standard our hoods are built with either two or three forward windows depending on the yacht. We do offer several options to upgrade the vision of your hood such as side windows in the wing section or roof, and a roll-up front window for greater ventilation which is useful when sailing in hot climates.
To add more durability to your hood, consider the addition of aft grab rails, if it’s not practical to fit these we can create cutouts in the aft pocket to allow the aft bar to act as a grab rail. AFT ENCLOSURE
A new aft enclosure can totally transform your yacht and extend your cruising season. The foundation of a good aft enclosure is a solid and well-built sprayhood. If your hood is dated then this will need to be changed first, but assuming a good hood is in place we can add a pairing zip to the existing hood to allow the enclosure to be securely attached.
The framework is manufactured from strong, marine-grade, high-quality stainless steel; this framework provides the base stability and the desired profile of your new cover.
Complimenting the carefully crafted frame, the skin of the hood is manufactured using high-quality marine grade acrylic canvas and features our unique zip bar pockets for easy fitting and removal along with strong tensioning straps on each aft quarter allowing the cover to be tensioned correctly.
As standard our aft enclosure features roll-up side windows and a roll-up aft window. As with a sprayhood, there are many ways to customize your new cover to suit your sailing requirements.
