Hi, I am Imogen and, like brother Angus, I have grown up around boats –  as is only  to be expected when your father is the founder of a sailmaking business!

Since my first outing on a boat as a small baby I have spent many cold childhood winters training and racing in a host of dinghies ranging from an optimist to an ILCA. In between competitively sailing dinghies I spent many years match racing Elan 33’s around Poole Harbour and even undertook some silly races across the channel and down the length of the UK (all before I reached the age of 20).

Since then, I have been on a marathon stint at university as I chose to study to become an architect, starting the journey in Plymouth and most recently finishing my master’s in Bristol. Although my focus has shifted away from competing during this time, I have remained closely connected to sailing by coaching RYA squads and regional groups, even squeezing in three summers teaching abroad.

This constant connection to the sailing world, as well as my integral link to Kemp Sails, has kept my head clear throughout my years of university, and unsurprisingly I am going to continue to be involved with Kemp Sails, even when I get a ‘proper’ architectural job. Combining my skills learned at university, along with (some) youthfulness, I run all of Kemp’s social sites as well as keep tabs on their website and any of our ambassadors, who can be found around the world.
